Persons who have not developed adequate psychological patterns of coping can develop emotional problems when faced with difficult life situations. Counselling helps them to develop coping skills and utilise internal and external resources, which enables them to become more autonomous and self-determined. Sometimes the problems arise not from within the individual, but from the interactions and relationships unique to the family. Such difficulties can be resolved only when the family as a whole participates in therapy. Family Therapy aims at resolving conflicts and improving communication between the family members.
